Video: Ander Herrera scores a fantastic first goal to gift PSG a fine lead

Image
GOAL! BREST 0-1 PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN! Mbappe's high cross is headed out as far as Herrera who smacks it opportunistically on the half-volley from range.  The shot catches Bizot off guard and bounces into the net. It's a tame opener for Brest to concede. 21' PSG have had the lion's share of possession as you'd expect. They've had 79 per cent of the ball so far. Brest are giving this a go though. The Brest fans break into applause when encouraged by the big screen in the stadium. Brest aren't playing too badly but they've lacked quality when they've made into the final third. 27' Honorat carries Brest forward again with a darting run down the right but Mounie's hold-up play is too slow to trouble PSG.

VIDEO: Erling Haaland nets a terrific goal as he dribbles pass 4 Star players

Some 25,000 fans were in attendance at the Signal Iduna Park, but it sounded more like 80,000 when Marco Reus swept in following a bulldozing Haaland run to give Dortmund the lead.  A bizarre Felix Passlack own goal cooled the party mood - the Dortmund right-back side-footed past Gregor Kobel from 18 yards as he attempted to contain Rafael Santos Borre's run - but normal service was resumed just past the half-hour mark.  Axel Witsel - operating at centre-back - cut out a teasing cross, prompting a blistering transition up the middle of the pitch.  Gio Reyna and Reus helped the ball on to Haaland, who set up Thorgan Hazard for 2-1.

(Video) Mohamed Salah curls in superb finish for Liverpool as Reds run riot (again) against Norwich City

Image
Mohamed Salah has found the back of the net in style to secure Liverpool all three points in their opening day clash with Norwich City.  Roberto Firmino has doubled Liverpool’s advantage over Premier League new-boys Norwich City. Norwich began their last season in the Premier League, the 2019/20 campaign, against Liverpool. They were defeated 4-1 by the side that would go on to become champions. When the fixture list was released and Norwich were pencilled in for an opening day clash with the Reds again, the fans must have been left thinking, “not again…” While Norwich haven’t rolled over this evening in the manner they did two years ago, Liverpool’s quality has shone through, with Firmino’s goal, their second of the game, setting them on course for victory.

Video: Marcos Alonso fires Chelsea into lead with STUNNING free-kick that left Palace keeper rooted to the spot

It’s taken 26 minutes for Chelsea to take the lead against Crystal Palace in this afternoon’s Premier League meeting between the two London sides, thanks to some magic from Marcos Alonso.  Mason Mount won a free-kick for the Blues before lining up alongside Alonso as the ball was set down 20 yards away from the goal on the right side of the pitch. Alonso fired Thomas Tuchel’s men ahead in serious style as he curled a free-kick straight into the top corner, a strike that left compatriot and Palace keeper Vicente Guaita completely rooted to the spot.

Chelsea are now willing to pay €130m and offer €12m per-season to land their main target this summer

Image
Chelsea do have a large and fairly complete squad heading into the new season, but what they don’t have is a player you would back to score every single week. That’s okay in knockout football where Thomas Tuchel is smart enough to out-think the opponent and somebody will usually score, but over the course of a league season it’s a major problem. They have been pushing hard to sign a reliable number 9 this summer, and the latest report from Fabrizio Romano suggests that Chelsea are ready to go all-out to bring Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge: It’s a complicated deal because Lukaku hasn’t made any noises about wanting to leave and Inter don’t need to sell, so Chelsea need to make a huge offer to both that they simply can’t turn down. There is a sense that Lukaku has unfinished business with Chelsea and he is the world-class striker that they need, but it’s still not clear if Inter will cave and accept the bid.
