Video: Astonishing moment as a clearly frustrated Cristiano Ronaldo slaps Ireland defender O’Shea


The two sides met in the World Cup qualifiers on Wednesday and alongside the 36-year-old was Bruno Fernandes, who also started for his country in the encounter. Ronaldo had a first-half penalty saved by the Irish goalkeeper and Ireland would eventually take the lead late in the first half.


It was, however, Ronaldo who would have the last laugh. Late in the game, he broke the record for most international goals by scoring his 110th, surpassing Iran’s Ali Daei (109 goals), to make it 1-1.
